Jars of FAITH

In 2 Kings 4:1-7 we read about a widow in desperate need. Her deceased husband’s debt has now become her own. The creditors have threaten to take her sons as slaves. She runs to the prophet of God, Elisha, pleading for help. Her actions spoke the words written in Psalm 121:1, “I lift up my eyes to the mountains – where does my help come from? When I was younger, I once read a book that recorded diary entries of women in the Victorian era. I’m not sure why this was my book of choice at the time, but this rather simple quote stuck for reasons beyond me. “Today I turn 20 years old. Oh, how very old.” So, every year when my birthday comes around, I change the number accordingly and say this to myself. “Today I turn 29 years old. Oh, how very old.” Continue reading “YEAR 29”
